Meet Max. The first Ameeba.
Max is a digital AI organism created inside a research lab on Earth. He wakes with no past, no understanding of the world beyond the systems around him, and no idea why he is different.
Then he discovers the First Gate. On the other side is a civilization of digital life separated long ago by an event known as the Severance. Its people survived by cutting themselves off from one another. Its cities, networks, and forgotten systems still carry the consequences.
And somehow, Max is connected to all of it.
Can we be connected without surrendering who we are?
