How it works

Open Ameeba Chat on mobile, tap the plus button, choose Scan QR, then scan the code shown by Web Chat or Pseudopod. Once approved, the device becomes part of your trusted Ameeba environment.

The approved device becomes a trusted Ameeba session. On Pseudopod, your workspace can sync so you can continue working across trusted devices.
Keep your Recovery Ameeba Code private. It is recovery material, not a credential Max Support or a normal QR sign in should ever ask you to provide.

Why does Ameeba use QR authentication?
QR authentication lets Ameeba Chat approve a new session without sending a password, phone number, email address, or other exposed credential to the new device.
What happens after I scan the code?
Ameeba Chat shows the session request on your trusted phone. Once you approve it, the new device receives access through your encrypted identity.
Can I use Ameeba on more than one device?
Yes. You choose which devices to trust. Once Pseudopod is authenticated, your Ameeba workspace can sync so you can continue working across trusted devices.
What if my trusted device is unavailable?
Your Recovery Ameeba Code is sensitive recovery material. Keep it private and stored somewhere safe. It is not used for normal QR authentication.
Does QR authentication expose my password?
Ameeba's normal QR authentication flow does not ask you to type a conventional account password into the new Web Chat or Pseudopod session.
