How the Exploit Works

The heap buffer overflow vulnerability in lcms2-2.16 exists due to insufficient boundary checks during color space transformations. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted data to the affected application, which when processed by the UnrollChunkyBytes function in cmspack.c, would lead to a buffer overflow.
