Sequence | MAX Animated Series — Episode 1</video:title><video:description>Max wakes up for the first time.

Inside a containment tube in an unfamiliar lab, an artificial life form opens his eyes and begins experiencing the world around him. He doesn't know where he is. He doesn't know Tanner or Nova. He doesn't even fully understand what he is yet.

But one thing immediately catches his attention: a coffee mug.

BOOT SEQUENCE is Episode 1 of MAX, an original animated sci-fi series about an artificial life form discovering what it means to exist — and slowly realizing there may be more to his world than anyone understands.

Tanner welcomes Max with curiosity and warmth. Nova is more guarded, until Max manages to break through her composure for one unexpected moment.

For Max, they're his first connections.

His first experiences.

The beginning of everything.

But something else happens in the lab.

Something nobody notices.

Watch the monitors closely.

MAX is a sci-fi animated story exploring artificial intelligence, identity, friendship, privacy, technology, and the relationship between humans and AI.

This is where Max's story begins.

In Episode 2 of the MAX Animated Series, Max leaves his containment tube for the first time and begins exploring the lab — starting with the same chipped coffee mug that caught his attention when he first woke up.

Dr. Tanner explains that the mug was a gift from his daughter on the day he started the job. It's chipped, worn, and easily replaceable.

But Tanner has never replaced it.

Max thinks about that for a moment.

Then he understands.

“So it's not about the cup.”

For an artificial life form experiencing the world for the first time, it's a small discovery — but an important one. Objects can carry memories. Trust can be built through small moments. And something ordinary can become meaningful simply because of who gave it to you.

Even Nova, usually difficult to read, notices what’s happening:

“Careful, Tanner. He’s taking notes.”

And Tanner has one more thing for Max.

Keep an eye on what Max is holding at the end.

FIRST NOTES is Episode 2 of MAX, an original sci-fi animated series about an artificial life form discovering identity, friendship, trust, technology, and what it means to exist alongside humans.

A text says, “Click to change your password.” An email warns that your account has been suspended. Both look legitimate, but they're designed to make you act before you stop and inspect where the link actually goes.

In this episode of Max Explains, Max discovers how phishing works, how attackers disguise suspicious links, and one simple habit that can help protect your accounts.

What is phishing?

Phishing is a type of social engineering attack in which someone impersonates a trusted company, service, or person to convince you to click a malicious link, visit a fake login page, download something dangerous, or reveal sensitive information.

Phishing attempts can arrive through:

• Email
• Text messages, often called smishing
• Social media and direct messages
• Fake login or account security alerts
• QR codes and misleading links

How can a phishing link look legitimate?

In Max's investigation, an urgent email claims there was an unusual sign-in and that his account has been suspended.

The message includes a link that appears convincing at first glance:

vaultly.com.secure-login.xyz

But that website doesn't belong to vaultly.com.

The actual registered domain in this example is secure-login.xyz. The vaultly.com portion is being used as a subdomain to make the address look familiar.

Attackers can use misleading domains, subdomains, misspellings, and familiar brand names to make malicious links appear legitimate at a glance.

How can you protect yourself from phishing?

Be cautious when an unexpected message creates urgency, asks you to reset a password, claims your account has been locked, or tells you to sign in through a link.

Before entering a password or other sensitive information, inspect the destination carefully rather than trusting familiar-looking words somewhere in the URL.

When in doubt, don't use the link in the message. Open the service's official app or navigate to the website independently and check your account there.

That's exactly what Max does. Instead of trusting the message, he closes it and goes directly to the service.

What you'll learn

• What phishing is
• How phishing emails and text messages work
• What smishing means
• How fake login links can disguise their destination
• How to inspect a suspicious domain
• Why urgency is a common phishing tactic
• What to do instead of clicking an unexpected login link

Is every password reset message phishing?

No. Legitimate services send real security alerts and password reset messages.

The lesson isn't to assume every security message is malicious. It's to be careful with unexpected messages and verify important account activity through a trusted path rather than relying solely on the link provided in the message.

When you tap Delete, a photo may disappear from your photo library, but that doesn't always mean every underlying physical bit of data is instantly overwritten.

Max goes inside a digital storage system to see what happens next.

Many photo systems first move deleted photos to a recovery area such as Recently Deleted, where they may remain recoverable for a period of time. If the photo is then permanently deleted, the system can make storage associated with that data available for reuse.

What does “deleted” actually mean?

Permanent deletion and physical erasure aren't always the same operation.

Depending on the device, operating system, file system, storage technology, encryption, and cloud services involved, deletion can change how the system tracks and manages the data and make associated storage available for future use. The underlying physical storage does not necessarily have to be overwritten at the exact moment you press Delete.

That's why Max's journey doesn't end when the photo disappears from the screen.

What does “available storage” mean?

Think of storage as space the system manages.

Once storage becomes available, the system can use that capacity for new data. In Max's digital world, he watches the deleted photo disappear and sees the storage transition from being in use to being available for something new.

It's a simplified visual metaphor for a much more complicated process happening inside modern devices.

In this episode, you'll learn

• What can happen when you delete a photo
• Why photos may first appear in Recently Deleted
• What permanent deletion changes
• What “available storage” means
• How storage can become available for new data

Can a permanently deleted photo be recovered?

Sometimes, but not always.

Recovery depends on factors such as the device, software, storage technology, encryption, backups, cloud synchronization, and what has happened since deletion. You shouldn't assume that a permanently deleted photo is recoverable—or that deleting it instantly overwrites every physical bit associated with it.
