A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted SQL commands to the application. Since there is no proper sanitation or handling of user inputs, the application executes these commands, giving the attacker the ability to manipulate the database, and potentially read sensitive data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conceptual Example Code<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"ameeb-513574445\" class=\"ameeb-content ameeb-entity-placement\"><div class=\"poptin-embedded\" data-id=\"f6b387694f681\"><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>Here is a<br \/>\n<strong>conceptual<\/strong><br \/>\n example of how the vulnerability might be exploited. This is a sample HTTP request:<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"\" data-line=\"\">POST \/login HTTP\/1.1\nHost: target.example.com\nContent-Type: application\/x-www-form-urlencoded\nusername=admin&#039; OR &#039;1&#039;=&#039;1&#039;; --&amp;password=<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>In this example, the attacker manipulates the &#8216;username&#8217; field by injecting a SQL command that always evaluates to &#8216;true&#8217; (&#8216;1&#8217;=&#8217;1&#8217;). The &#8216;&#8211;&#8216; is a comment in SQL, which makes the application ignore anything after it, including the password check.
