How the Exploit Works<\/strong><\/p>\n

The vulnerability is due to an improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory (Path Traversal) in WPMinds Simple WP Events. This allows an attacker to read arbitrary files on the server’s filesystem that is running an affected version of the software. The attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request containing directory traversal character sequences to the target application.<\/p>\n
