Anyone who knows the hardcoded password can obtain root privileges via local console or equivalent administrative access, thus enabling local privilege escalation. Although a patch for this vulnerability was reported, it is incomplete as it only remediated \/etc\/shadow, leaving \/etc\/sudoers still vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conceptual Example Code<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"ameeb-1504115021\" class=\"ameeb-content ameeb-entity-placement\"><div class=\"poptin-embedded\" data-id=\"f6b387694f681\"><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>The following is a conceptual example of how the vulnerability might be exploited.
