How the Exploit Works<\/strong><\/p>\n

The vulnerability is a SQL Injection<\/a> that can occur when an attacker sends specially crafted input through the ‘mobilenumber’, ‘teamleadname’ and ‘teammember’ parameters in the ‘\/ofrs\/admin\/add-team.php’ endpoint. By manipulating these parameters, an attacker can inject malicious SQL<\/a> queries into the system. This could allow the attacker to retrieve, create, update and delete data in the database, leading to possible system<\/a> compromise and data leakage.<\/p>\n

In this example, the attacker uses the SQL Injection<\/a> to inject a malicious SQL query (‘ OR ‘1’=’1′; DROP TABLE members; –). This query tricks the system into executing a command<\/a> that drops (deletes) the ‘members’ table from the database.<\/p>\n
Mitigation and Prevention<\/strong><\/p>\n
Users of the Online Fire Reporting System<\/a> v1.2 are advised to apply the patch provided by the vendor as soon as possible. If the patch cannot be applied immediately, temporary mitigation can be achieved by implementing a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to detect and block attempted exploits of this vulnerability<\/a>.
