Specifically, the system fails to enforce proper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-40743-unauthorized-vnc-access-in-sinumerik-systems-due-to-insufficient-password-verification\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"80333\">authentication<\/a> or session validation when receiving a password change request. Because the device does not check for valid credentials or a valid session, it accepts the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-9114-critical-arbitrary-user-password-change-vulnerability-in-doccure-wordpress-theme\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"88276\">password change<\/a>, allowing the attacker to take over the device.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitigation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The immediate recommended mitigation for this vulnerability is to apply the vendor-supplied patch. If a patch is not available or cannot be applied immediately, organizations should consider using a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) as temporary mitigation.
