This vulnerability, which pertains to the improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory (also known as ‘Path Traversal’), offers malicious users an opportunity to upload a web shell to a web server. Given the widespread use of MagicINFO 9 Server, this vulnerability raises significant concerns, with potential system compromise or data leakage on the horizon.

Vulnerability Summary

CVE ID: CVE-2025-54446
Severity: Critical (9.8 CVSS Score)
Attack Vector: Network
Privileges Required: Low
User Interaction: None
Impact: Potential system compromise or data leakage

Affected Products

    A new way to communicate

Ameeba Chat is built on encrypted identity, not personal profiles.

Message, call, share files, and coordinate with identities kept separate.

• Encrypted identity

• Ameeba Chat authenticates access

• Aliases and categories

• End-to-end encrypted chat, calls, and files

• Secure notes for sensitive information

    Private communication, rethought.

    Download Ameeba Chat
    Learn More

Product | Affected Versions

MagicINFO 9 Server | less than 21.1080.0

How the Exploit Works

The exploit takes advantage of the path traversal vulnerability in the MagicINFO 9 Server.
