The manipulation of the argument curTime\/config.smtp_email_subject results in a stack-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-32717-heap-based-buffer-overflow-in-microsoft-office-word-leading-to-unauthorized-code-execution\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"61827\">buffer overflow<\/a>. Assuming the attacker knows the vulnerable endpoint, they could send a malicious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-6162-critical-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-in-totolink-ex1200t-http-post-request-handler\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"62253\">HTTP POST request<\/a> similar to the following:<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"\" data-line=\"\">POST \/goform\/formSetEmail HTTP\/1.1\nHost: vulnerable-device.example.com\nContent-Type: application\/x-www-form-urlencoded\ncurTime=config.smtp_email_subject&amp;value=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>In this example, the &#8220;value&#8221; field is filled with a long string of &#8220;A&#8221; characters, which could cause a stack-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-6121-critical-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-in-d-link-dir-632-fw103b08\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"61820\">buffer overflow in the vulnerable<\/a> system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitigation Guidance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Given that the affected product is no longer supported by the vendor, the ideal solution of applying a vendor patch is not available.
