The flaw is due to improper sanitization of the &#8216;branch&#8217; parameter before it is concatenated and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-49132-critical-arbitrary-code-execution-vulnerability-in-pterodactyl-game-server-management-panel\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"63277\">executed in a shell command on the server&#8217;s<\/a> operating system. An attacker can exploit this flaw by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-6104-critical-os-command-injection-vulnerability-in-wifi-soft-unibox-controller\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"61456\">injecting malicious commands<\/a> into the &#8216;branch&#8217; parameter. As this parameter is not properly sanitized, the malicious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-44635-unauthorized-remote-command-execution-vulnerability-in-h3c-series-routers\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"63521\">commands can be executed<\/a> on the server with the permissions of the &#8216;www-data&#8217; web server user.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conceptual Example Code<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"ameeb-866360784\" class=\"ameeb-content ameeb-entity-placement\"><div class=\"poptin-embedded\" data-id=\"f6b387694f681\"><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>An attacker could potentially exploit this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-6001-cross-site-request-forgery-vulnerability-in-virtuemart-product-image-upload-function\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"62173\">vulnerability by sending a specially crafted HTTP POST request<\/a> similar to the following:<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"\" data-line=\"\">POST \/html\/configuracao\/debug_info.php HTTP\/1.1\nHost: target.example.com\nContent-Type: application\/x-www-form-urlencoded\nbranch=;ls -la;#<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>In this example, the &#8216;branch&#8217; parameter is set to a shell command (;ls -la;#), which will list the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-6426-executable-file-warning-vulnerability-in-firefox-for-macos\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"64297\">files in the current directory when executed<\/a> on the server. The semicolon (;) is used to end the previous command, and the hash (#) is used to comment out the remaining part of the command.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitigation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-39486-rankie-sql-injection-vulnerability-and-mitigation-measures\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"62514\">mitigate this vulnerability<\/a>, users are advised to upgrade to WeGIA version 3.4.2 or later, where this issue has been patched. As a temporary measure, a web application firewall (WAF) or intrusion detection system (IDS) can be used to detect and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-49155-uncontrolled-search-path-vulnerability-in-trend-micro-apex-one-data-loss-prevention-module\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"62513\">prevent attempts to exploit this vulnerability<\/a>. These systems should be configured to monitor for and block <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-6162-critical-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-in-totolink-ex1200t-http-post-request-handler\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"62274\">HTTP POST requests<\/a> to the \/html\/configuracao\/debug_info.php endpoint containing suspicious &#8216;branch&#8217; parameters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CVE-2025-50201 is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-6110-critical-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-in-tenda-fh1201-1-2-0-14-408\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"61436\">critical vulnerability<\/a> that could potentially allow an unauthenticated attacker to compromise systems running vulnerable versions of the WeGIA web manager.
