With careful crafting, these packets could be designed to escalate the privilege level of the attacker remotely. This patch has been specifically developed to address the missing permission check that allows the privilege escalation. If, for any reason, the patch cannot be immediately applied, it is recommended to use a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or Intrusion Detection System (IDS) as temporary mitigation. However, these are not long-term solutions and the patch should be applied as soon as possible in order to fully mitigate the vulnerability.

Overview The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) system has identified a critical security vulnerability, CVE-2025-20674, which resides in the wlan AP driver.
