This vulnerability is particularly concerning as it allows an attacker to execute arbitrary script code within a user’s browser session. This vulnerability affects a wide range of industries that rely on 3DEXPERIENCE’s suite of tools for product lifecycle management, thus highlighting the importance of understanding and mitigating this issue.

Vulnerability Summary

CVE ID: CVE-2025-4989
Severity: High (CVSS: 8.7)
Attack Vector: Network
Privileges Required: None
User Interaction: Required
Impact: Potential system compromise and data leakage

Affected Products

    A new way to communicate

Ameeba Chat is built on encrypted identity, not personal profiles.

Message, call, share files, and coordinate with identities kept separate.

• Encrypted identity

• Ameeba Chat authenticates access

• Aliases and categories

• End-to-end encrypted chat, calls, and files

• Secure notes for sensitive information

    Private communication, rethought.

    Download Ameeba Chat
    Learn More

Product | Affected Versions

3DEXPERIENCE Product Manager | Release 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x through Release 3DEXPERIENCE R2025x

How the Exploit Works

The vulnerability is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue. An attacker can inject malicious script code into the Requirements component of the Product Manager. When the affected pages are loaded, the malicious script is executed within the user’s browser session. Dassault Systèmes has released a patch that addresses this issue and it should be applied as soon as possible to all affected systems.
In situations where immediate patching is not possible, implementing a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or Intrusion Detection System (IDS) can provide temporary mitigation.
