As such, an unauthenticated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-32819-remote-attacker-bypassing-path-traversal-checks-in-sma100\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"44102\">attacker can remotely<\/a> access these APIs to perform operations such as opening gates or rebooting the system. The absence of proper authentication controls <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2023-49129-stack-overflow-vulnerability-in-solid-edge-se2023-allows-potential-system-compromise\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"43517\">allows potential threat actors to bypass system<\/a> security, thus gaining unauthorized access to system operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conceptual Example Code<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"ameeb-3749896638\" class=\"ameeb-content ameeb-entity-placement\"><div class=\"poptin-embedded\" data-id=\"f6b387694f681\"><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/div>\n<p>An example of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-45997-exploiting-file-upload-vulnerability-in-web-based-pharmacy-product-management-system\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"56852\">exploiting this vulnerability<\/a> might look like this:<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"\" data-line=\"\">POST \/api\/open_gate HTTP\/1.1\nHost: target.example.com\nContent-Type: application\/json\n{ &quot;gate_id&quot;: &quot;1&quot; }<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>In this example, the attacker sends a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-4829-critical-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-in-totolink-http-post-request-handler\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"56853\">POST request<\/a> to the `\/api\/open_gate` endpoint, specifying a `gate_id` to open. Since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-46584-improper-authentication-logic-vulnerability-in-file-system-module\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"58006\">system does not require authentication<\/a> for this API, the request is processed, and the gate opens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitigation Guidance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are two ways to mitigate this vulnerability. The first and most recommended is to apply the vendor patch. ZONG YU has released a patch that fixes the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-55306-critical-api-key-and-authentication-token-exposure-in-genx-fx-trading-platform\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"81370\">authentication issues in its APIs<\/a>. All affected organizations should apply this patch as soon as possible.<br \/>\nIf applying the patch is not immediately possible, organizations can use a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or Intrusion Detection System (IDS) as a temporary mitigation. These <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-4347-d-link-router-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-leading-to-potential-system-compromise\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"43585\">systems can detect and block malicious requests to the vulnerable<\/a> APIs, providing some protection until the patch can be applied.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CVE-2025-4557 represents a serious security risk to any organization using ZONG YU&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-45885-critical-sql-injection-vulnerability-in-phpgurukul-vehicle-parking-management-system\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"45210\">Parking Management<\/a> System. Immediate action is required to prevent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-4372-webaudio-heap-corruption-in-google-chrome-a-potential-gateway-to-system-compromise-and-data-leakage\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"43791\">potential system compromise or data<\/a> leakage.
