A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-3785-critical-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-in-d-link-dwr-m961\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"41005\">buffer overflow<\/a> can occur when a specially crafted argument is passed to the host parameter of this function. The following is a conceptual example of such a payload:<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"\" data-line=\"\">POST \/default_version_is_new HTTP\/1.1\nHost: target.example.com\nContent-Type: application\/json\n{ &quot;host&quot;: &quot;A long string that exceeds the buffer limit...&quot; }<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>In this example, the &#8220;host&#8221; parameter is given a string that, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-44952-buffer-overflow-vulnerability-in-pfcp-library-of-open5gs-due-to-missing-length-check\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"78375\">due to its length<\/a>, exceeds the buffer limit, triggering the overflow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitigation Guidance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the vendor has not yet responded with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ameeba.com\/blog\/cve-2025-49002-critical-vulnerability-in-dataease-bypassing-patch-for-cve-2025-32966\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"78376\">patch for this vulnerability<\/a>, it is recommended to use a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or Intrusion Detection System (IDS) as temporary mitigation.
