This allows an attacker to send specially crafted packets to a vulnerable system, resulting in arbitrary code execution. Since the system does not require authentication to process these packets, the attacker does not need any valid user credentials. This makes the vulnerability especially dangerous, as it enables potential attackers to execute code and potentially gain control over the system.

Conceptual Example Code

The following is a conceptual example of how an attacker might exploit CVE-2025-29662. This is a simplified representation and real-world attacks may be more complex and sophisticated.

POST /vulnerable/endpoint HTTP/1.1
Host: target.example.com
Content-Type: application/json
{ "malicious_payload": "execute(system_code)" }

In this example, the attacker sends a POST request with a malicious payload to the vulnerable endpoint. If the patch cannot be applied immediately, using a Web Application Firewall (WAF) or Intrusion Detection System (IDS) can provide temporary mitigation. However, these measures are only temporary and do not eliminate the underlying vulnerability, so the official patch should still be applied as soon as feasible.

Overview In the constantly changing landscape of cybersecurity, new vulnerabilities are discovered on a regular basis.
